MOSCOW. Dec 8 (Interfax) - The floating workshop, PM-82, has passed through the English Channel en route to the Mediterranean Sea, the Russian Baltic Fleet said on Tuesday.
"The Baltic Fleet's PM-82 floating workshop has completed passage across the English Channel and sailed out into the Atlantic Ocean," the fleet said.
The vessel left Baltiysk for the Mediterranean earlier this month, it said.
"The PM-82 crew will spend the next four months ensuring the current Russian Navy [taskforce of] ships and submarines in the region are technically ready," the fleet said.
The support vessel is constantly carrying a counterterrorism group consisting of Baltic Fleet marines.
"This is already the fourth Mediterranean deployment of the PM-82 crew in three years," the fleet said.
