MOSCOW. Dec 9 (Interfax) - Absolutely all young men drafted to the Russian Armed Forces during the ongoing fall-and-winter draft campaign have been tested for coronavirus, and this helped prevent anyone infected from joining the military, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said.
"During the fall-and-winter draft campaign, over 82,000 draftees have been called up for military service, in line with an endorsed plan. All of them have been examined and tested, which prevented anyone with the coronavirus infection from being sent to the garrisons," Shoigu said at a conference with the Armed Forces command on Wednesday.
The fall-and-winter draft campaign was started in Russia on October 1. Nearly 130,000 people are to be called up.
