MOSCOW. Dec 11 (Interfax) - The new American sanctions against companies linked to Chechnya will not affect the development of this republic, its leader Ramzan Kadyrov said.
"I am not surprised by this event, nor am I frightened by it. These sanctions will have no impact on the Chechen Republic and its development," Kadyrov wrote on his Telegram.
The family of Bin Laden lived in the U.S. and his brothers ran their own businesses in various corners of the globe, he said. "Yet, mysteriously, none of them had fallen under the United States' sanctions and was quietly minding their own business. You cannot call it other than hypocrisy!" Kadyrov said.
"Today's shameful U.S. sanctions will backfire. It really is a black page in the history of that state," Kadyrov said.
On Thursday the U.S. administration announced sanctions against six Russian companies, which Washington suspects of being involved in human rights violations, according to a document of the U.S. Department of the Treasury.
