No threat to civilian population in Uchkeken - Karachayevo-Cherkessia head

CHERKESSK. Dec 11 (Interfax) - The suicide bomber's attack, which inflicted injuries on six persons, did not destabilize the situation in Uchkeken, Karachayevo-Cherkessia head Rashid Temrezov said.

"The authorities of Karachayevo-Cherkessia and security and law enforcement agencies are doing everything necessary and are taking relevant operative decisions. All is quiet in the village of Uchkeken. There is no threat to the civilian population," Temrezov told Interfax.

The incident did not lead to civilian casualties, he said.

The National Antiterrorism Committee said earlier that the suicide bomber's attack in Karachayevo-Cherkessia had inflicted injuries on six law enforcement officers. The officers have received proper medical care, it said.
