YEREVAN/BAKU Dec 14. (Interfax) - The Armenian Armed Forces' positions in Nagorno-Karabakh have been attacked by the Azerbaijani troops with the participation of Turkish special force units, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said.
"Our positions were attacked by the Azerbaijani troops yesterday in the area of the villages of Khtsaberd and Old Taglar. According to some reports, Turkish special force units took part in the attack," Pashinyan said at an extraordinary meeting of the country's Security Council on Sunday.
The attack took place when the Russian peacekeepers had yet no time to deploy to this area, he said.
Six Armenian troops have been injured in the clash, Pashinyan said.
This is a Karabakh region, which is called Hadrut in Armenia, and Khojavend in Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijan is conducting a special operation in the region, Baku said in commenting on the situation in this region.
"In recent days, the Azerbaijani State Security Service has been carrying out a counter-terrorism operation against [...] the Armenian military units, which remained in the woody area around the settlement of Hadrut, the Khojavend region of Azerbaijan," the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said.
