YEREVAN. Dec 14 (Interfax) - The Defense Ministry of the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) reported on Saturday another 36 deaths of servicemen during hostilities with the Azerbaijani troops in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone in the period from September 27 to November 9.
According to updated information of the NKR Defense Ministry, as many as 1,815 servicemen of the Defense Army of the unrecognized NKR died since the beginning of hostilities on September 27.
The Armenian Health Ministry said on December 11 that Armenia lost 2,996 servicemen killed in the war in Karabakh. According to the Armenian side, not all casualties have been added to the defense ministry's list yet.
The Azerbaijani Armed Forces started the fighting in the Karabakh conflict zone on September 27. In the early hours of November 10, the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia adopted a trilateral statement on the ceasefire in Nagorno-Karabakh, the deployment of Russian peacekeepers, and the handover of several territories of the region to Azerbaijan.
