Resolution of Palestinian problem should not be overshadowed by normalization of Israel's relations with Arab countries - Lavrov

MOSCOW. Dec 14 (Interfax) - Moscow positively views the normalization of Israel's relations with Arab countries, which, however, should not overshadow the Palestinian problem, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.

"Normalization of Israel's relations with Arab countries is gaining momentum; of course, in general, this is a positive phenomenon, as it rids of old disagreements and establishes channels of civilized communication based on legal methods," Lavrov said at a press conference in Moscow on Monday after talks with the UAE foreign minister.

At the same time, "whenever Russia presented its public and official stance on this process, it has always underlined that the process should not overshadow the Palestinian problem, let alone bury it into oblivion," Lavrov said.
