MOSCOW. Dec 14 (Interfax) - A simulated payload of the Angara heavy-lift launch vehicle, launched during testing of the rocket, has been placed into orbit by the Briz-M upper stage, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Monday.
"The Angara-A5 heavy-class carrier rocket, which lifted off from Plesetsk (Arkhangelsk region) at 08:50 a.m. Moscow Time today on December 14, has put an inseparable mockup of a payload of comparable size and mass into its intended geostationary orbit," the Defense Ministry said.
Both the launch and the delivery to orbit proceeded normally, the ministry said.
