MOSCOW. Dec 17 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has dismissed as nonsense the suggestion that someone is trying to put pressure on Roscosmos head Dmitry Rogozin through the prosecution of his advisor, former journalist Ivan Safronov.
"Nonsense. What's the point in pressuring him?" Putin told reporters when commenting on the suggestion following his annual press conference on Thursday.
Rogozin is a public official, he said.
"He's working today. He's working well, let him work further. If he doesn't want to work or works badly, we'll replace him. There's nothing special about it. That's how he recruits [employees], recruits as the head of Roscosmos," Putin said.
