MINSK. Dec 18 (Interfax) - The Belarusian Interior Ministry and the Russian Federal Service of National Guard Troops have signed a cooperation agreement, the national Internet portal for legal information of Belarus said on Friday.
Avenues of cooperation listed in the agreement include protection of public order and public security, guarding key state facilities and special cargoes, and the fight against terrorism and extremism.
In addition, the Belarusian Interior Ministry and the Russian National Guard will work together to oversee weapons turnover, maintain security at fuel and energy sector facilities, guard crucial and restricted-access facilities, and aid the crackdown on corruption.
The sides will also conduct joint consultations, workshops, conferences, training sessions, personnel training, exercises, etc.
At the same time, "the agreement does not limit the sides in determining and promoting other mutually acceptable forms of cooperation."
The agreement "was concluded in the city of Minsk on November 19, 2020" and is effective from the date of signature.
