Azerbaijani president discusses security cooperation with Russia's FSB director

BAKU. Dec 18 (Interfax) - Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev hosted the director of Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB), Alexander Bortnikov, on Friday, a statement on the head of state's website said.

"Bortnikov passed along greetings from the president of Russia, Vladimir Putin. The meeting focused on the current situation in the region, settlement of the [Karabakh] conflict. It was noted that the trilateral statement on Karabakh is being complied with, and the situation is stable," the statement said.

The pair also discussed security cooperation, it said.

Earlier on Friday, Bortnikov visited Armenia.
