State's 2020 defense order completion rate close to 100% - Shoigu

MOSCOW. Dec 21 (Interfax) - Ninety-nine per cent of the work which was due to be completed under government defense contracts in 2020 is complete, Russian Defense Minster Sergei Shoigu said.

"The implementation of all signed contracts ensured the delivery of over 250,000 units of weapons and counter-weapons. The task-execution rate of the State Defense Order is: 99.8 per cent for purchases and 99.7 per cent for repairs and upgrades," Shoigu said at an enlarged meeting of the ministry's collegium on Monday.

Re-arming the army and the navy and planned repairs helped maintain 95 per cent of equipment in good condition, he said.
