MOSCOW. Dec 22 (Interfax) - Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov said he believes opposition activist Alexei Navalny is suffering from persecutory delusions and megalomania.
"I'll probably allow myself a bit more than I should and express my personal viewpoint, which I usually don't do, as I don't have such a right," Peskov told journalists on Tuesday.
"In general, it can be said that the patient [Navalny] is manifesting prominent symptoms of persecutory delusion. A certain manifestation of megalomania can also be clearly diagnosed, because, as some say, he has even compared himself to Jesus," he said.
Peskov also said he noticed that Navalny has displayed some "Freudian fixation with his own crotch area."
"This is perhaps how all of this should be treated," Peskov said.
Navalny on Monday posted a video in which, as he asserted, he made a telephone call to an FSB operative who had taken part in a special operation to poison him this past summer. Navalny concluded from the conversation that the toxic agent might have been applied to the crotch area of his underpants.
