MOSCOW. Dec 24 (Interfax) - Terrorist activity persists in Syria, Afghanistan, and Libya, according to Russian General Staff Chief Valery Gerasimov.
"The international situation is characterized with further aggravation of global and regional security problems. Tensions are escalating in the world under the pressure of broadening terrorism and radical extremism, the ongoing global economic recession, the coronavirus pandemic, and the destructive foreign policy of a number of countries," Gerasimov said at a briefing on Thursday.
"Tensions in Iranian-U.S. relations are not reducing, either," he said.
Gerasimov noted the ongoing terrorist activity in a number of countries, among them Syria, Afghanistan, and Libya.
