Russian Deputy FM Bogdanov confirms to ambassador of CAR that Moscow supports stability in country

MOSCOW. Dec 28 (Interfax) - Russian Special Presidential Representative for the Middle East and Africa and Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov has received Ambassador of the Central African Republic in Moscow Leon Dodonou at his request on Saturday.

"During the conversation, Dodonou informed [Bogdanov] about the development of the military and political situation in the Central African Republic in light of the presidential and parliamentary elections scheduled in this country for December 27, 2020," the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

"The Russian side reiterated its principled stance in support of the sovereignty, independence, territorial integrity, and internal political stability of the Central African Republic and emphasized the importance of the upcoming expression of will of the people of the Central African Republic for normalization of the situation in the republic, as was repeatedly pointed out in the relevant documents of the United Nations and its Security Council," the ministry said.
