MOSCOW. Dec 28 (Interfax) - The situation in the Ain Issa, al-Raqqah province in northern Syria, is unstable, Rear Adm. Vyacheslav Sytnik, deputy head of the Russian center for reconciliation of opposing sides in Syria, said on Sunday, citing the Russian military in Syria.
"Additional units of the Russian military police have arrived at the Ain Issa area today to intensify efforts to stabilize the situation," he said.
Agreements were earlier reached in the negotiations with the Turkish side on the installation of joint Russian-Syrian posts in the area, Sytnik said.
"We are calling on the sides conducting mutual attacks to stop the escalation," he said.
According to the deputy head of the Russian center for reconciliation of opposing sides in Syria, 21 attacks from the positions of the terrorist group Jabhat al-Nusra (banned in Russia) were registered in the Idlib de-escalation zone on Sunday.
