Bodies of over 330 Azerbaijani troops and almost 1,000 Armenian ones removed from Karabakh, Baku says

BAKU. Jan 11 (Interfax) - The bodies of over 330 Azerbaijani servicemen and about a thousand of Armenian ones have been removed from the zone of hostilities in Karabakh, the head of Azerbaijan's State Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons, Ismail Akhundov, said.

"The bodies of 334 Azerbaijani and 988 Armenian troops have been carried out of the hostilities zone to date," Akhundov told a press conference at the Center for International Relations Analysis in Baku on Tuesday.

Azerbaijan had now handed over 58 POWs to Armenia, and Armenia handed over 12 Azerbaijani servicemen and two civilians, he said. "At present there are five Armenian servicemen and two civilians in Azerbaijan. Armenia is holding two citizens of Azerbaijan," he said.
