Karabakh deal being consistently honored, situation in region now calm - Putin

MOSCOW. Jan 11 (Interfax) - The trilateral agreements on Nagorno-Karabakh reached by Baku, Yerevan, and Moscow are being consistently honored, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

"We can acknowledge with satisfaction today that the trilateral agreements are being implemented consistently. We are convinced that this provides the necessary preconditions for a long-lasting and full settlement of the long-running conflict on a just basis in the interests of the Armenian and Azerbaijani peoples," Putin said during negotiations with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in Moscow on Monday.

A Russian peacekeeping force has been deployed in Nagorno-Karabakh, as well as along the Lachin corridor, to ensure the observance of the ceasefire on the line of contact, and a system has been set up to enforce such a ceasefire, he said.

"The situation in the region is calm now," Putin said.
