Iranian foreign minister expected to visit Moscow this month - Lavrov (Part 2)

MOSCOW. Jan 14 (Interfax) - Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif is expected to visit Moscow in January, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.

"Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif is expected to visit Moscow in January," he said at a press conference in Moscow on Thursday.

"The main idea is that such dialogue should be built on the basis of the genuine equality of rights and that all external players should promote the achievement of accord by the sides, not set them against each other," Lavrov said after negotiations with Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, responding to a question about the achievement of security in the Persian Gulf area.

The minister also spoke in favor of including all issues, including Tehran's concerns, in the agenda on the issue of collective security in the Gulf.

"We have already discussed this issue [with Zarif]. And we will definitely continue this talk with regard for the exchange of opinions that we had with Mr. Minister today," Lavrov said.
