MOSCOW. Jan 15 (Interfax) - Russian peacekeepers in Nagorno-Karabakh have safeguarded the return of another 210 refugees in the past 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Thursday.
"A safe return to Nagorno-Karabakh from Armenia has been provided to 210 refugees in the past 24 hours. In all, 49,264 people have returned to their erstwhile homes in Nagorno-Karabakh since November 14, 2020," the Defense Ministry said.
The ceasefire, which is being monitored around the clock by Russian peacekeepers from 27 observation posts, has held along the entire line of contact, the ministry said.
Teams of bomb disposal experts from the Humanitarian Demining Center have cleared 1.5 hectares of territory in the past 24 hours. "In all, since November 23, 2020, unexploded ammunition has been removed from 526.6 hectares, 198.8 kilometers of road, and 751 buildings, including 25 socially significant sites, and 23,404 explosive objects have been found and rendered safe," the ministry said.
The Russian peacekeeping contingent is coordinating incident-prevention efforts through continual communication with the general staffs of the Azerbaijani and Armenian armed forces.
