MOSCOW. Jan 18 (Interfax) - Germany's formulaic answers to Russia's request for legal assistance as concerns the situation surrounding the hospitalization of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny were designed to conceal the true causes of the incident, the Russian Prosecutor General's Office said.
"Germany approached the execution of the Russian requests as a mere formality, having effectively provided nothing to shed light on the supposed poisoning. This is seen as a direct intention on the part of our foreign colleagues to conceal the true circumstances of the incident in order to continue hollow accusations against Russia," the Prosecutor General's Office said on Monday.
"The Russian queries set out requests to carry out more than 15 procedures, of which, judging by the contents of the materials, only two - questioning Navalny and his wife - were actually carried out. They are hardly informative and contain no answers to the questions," it said.
