Final decision on Russia's withdrawal from Treaty on Open Skies to depend on dialogue with U.S. - Duma's Shamanov

MOSCOW. Jan 19 (Interfax) - The final decision to draft a bill by which Russia will denounce the Treaty on Open Skies will be made depending on progress of the dialogue with the administration of U.S. President Joe Biden, State Duma Defense Committee Chairman Vladimir Shamanov said.

"Expert evaluation is underway. We should wait a little bit. Let the new, Biden administration take office. The final decision will be made [depending on] progress of dialogues," Shamanov said on Tuesday in response to Interfax's question.

"The transitional period might take from one to three months," he said.
