OFAC adds 2 Russia-flagged tanker vessels, Rustanker company to SDN List as part of Venezuela sanctions

MOSCOW. Jan 19 (Interfax) - Two Russia-flagged oil tankers and a company based in Novorossiysk, Krasnodar Territory have been included on U.S. sanctions lists.

The Office of Foreign Asset Control of the U.S. Department of the Treasury (OFAC) has said in a statement that it has included Russian-based company RUSTANKER LLC and the related Russia-flagged crude/oil products tanker Sierra (formerly known as Sienna) on the Special Designated National (SDN) List as part of its Venezuela-related designations.

The SDN List contains the address where Rustanker had its address registered before last summer (ul Lenina 32, Temryuk, Krasnodarskiy Kray). According to SPARK Interfax, the company's actual current address is 79 Admirala Serebryakova Nab., Office 5, Novorossiysk. The company's founder is Makandi Marine Inc. (Marshall Islands).

The SDN List also features Russia-flagged crude oil tanker Maksim Gorky (previosly Maximo Gorki).
