Russian court gives 24.5-year sentence to soldier Shamsutdinov for killing his fellow servicemen

BLAGOVESHCHENSK. Jan 21 (Interfax) - The Second Eastern District Military Court on Thursday sentenced drafted soldier Ramil Shamsutdinov to 24 years and six months in a high-security penitentiary for killing eight people in a military unit in Russia's Transbaikal Territory in October 2019, his lawyer Lev Asaulenko told Interfax.

The court's "final decision is a penalty [...] in the form of a sentence of 24 years and six months in a high-security penitentiary," he said.
