MOSCOW. Jan 25 (Interfax) - Moscow will be one of the first capitals visited by new UN Special Envoy on Libya Jan Kubis, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov said on Monday.
"I spoke with him on Friday. He still needs to get up to speed and to establish contacts with the Libyans; after that, one of the first places and capitals he plans to visit will certainly be Moscow," Bogdanov told journalists.
Bogdanov said in response to a follow-up question that a precise date for such visit has not been set.
"We assured him that we would be glad to receive him and to hold profound consultations at any convenient time. I think that he's also interested in doing so, considering our understanding of what's going on there and our contacts. [...] I think there are common interests in this area," Bogdanov said.
