ZAVIDOVO, Tver region. Jan 25 (Interfax) - Some foreign countries are seeking to obstruct the Russian MC-21 medium-haul passenger airliner project through sanctions, but Russia will complete it anyway, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.
"We are building the MC-21 medium-haul aircraft. A wrench is thrown in our works virtually all the time, as, for instance, through sanctions," Putin said at a videoconference with college students on the occasion of Russian Studentship Day on Monday.
"But never mind, even if we have to push something back on the development timeline, we'll be doing it and will do it anyway, and we'll do it successfully, too," Putin said.
