MOSCOW. Jan 27 (Interfax) - The issue of opposition activist Alexei Navalny was touched upon by U.S. President Joe Biden during the phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin, and relevant explanations were given to him, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

"As for this issue, yes, it was touched upon by the president of the United States of America. Relevant explanations were given on the part of President Putin," Peskov told reporters on Wednesday.

Journalists asked which particular aspects of the Navalny issue, his illness or arrest, had been discussed by the two presidents. "They concerned those issues raised by the U.S. president. Explanations were given for every remark," Peskov said.
