Russia, Kazakhstan to create joint constellation of remote sensing satellites - Roscosmos

MOSCOW. Jan 27 (Interfax) - Roscosmos has agreed to set up a constellation of remote sensing satellites jointly with Kazakhstan, the state corporation said.

This issue, among others, was discussed on Wednesday at a meeting of the Interstate Space Council, which includes Commonwealth of Independent States member countries, Roscosmos said.

Following the meeting, the parties approved the council's working schedule for 2021 and signed relevant decisions on items on the agenda, including the implementation of an investment project to create a constellation of three Kazakh medium-resolution remote sensing satellites, it said.

Additionally, a document was signed with Belarus on creating "a multilevel remote sensing space system using space, aviation, and ground facilities and technologies for their application."
