MOSCOW. Feb 3 (Interfax) - The Russian embassy to the United Kingdom is perplexed by UK Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab's remarks regarding the court ruling in the case of Russian opposition activist Alexei Navalny.
"Perplexed by rude and incompetent accusations by Dominic Raab, diplomat and lawyer, who denies Russian justice the right to apply Russian law to Alexei Navalny for breach of parole," the Russian embassy in London said in a statement published on Twitter.
On Tuesday, the UK foreign secretary called on Russia "for the immediate and unconditional release of Alexei Navalny and all of the peaceful protesters and journalists arrested over the last two weeks."
This court ruling "shows Russia is failing to meet the most basic commitments expected of any responsible member of the international community," Raab said.
