UEC's engines ensured successful launch of Soyuz-2.1b rocket from Plesetsk Cosmodrome

MOSCOW. Feb 4 (Interfax) - RD-107A/108A rocket engines operated as planned during the recent launch of a Soyuz-2.1b rocket carrying a spacecraft in the interests of the Russian Defense Ministry, the United Engine Corporation (UEC) said.

"The engines manufactured by UEC-Kuznetsov installed on the 1st and 2nd stages of the Soyuz-2.1b launch vehicle operated as planned," the UEC said on its website.

As was reported earlier, the rocket was launched from the Plesetsk state testing cosmodrome in the Arkhangelsk region on February 2.

This was the first launch of a Soyuz vehicle in 2021.

RD-107A/RD-108A engines have been installed on the 1st and 2nd stages of all launch vehicles of the R-7 type (including Soyuz) since 1958.
