MOSCOW. Feb 4 (Interfax) - Russia's United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) is planning to hand over ten new ships to the Russian Defense Ministry this year, USC Director General Alexei Rakhmanov said in an interview with Interfax on Thursday.
"This year, our task is to hand over ten new ships and three after repairs, taking into account those [for which deadlines were] officially postponed from 2020 to 2021," he said.
Rakhmanov said that 2020 was a record year for USC in terms of the delivery of new ships to the military.
"The Navy received nine new ships and two more after repairs. This has not happened even once since the corporation was founded. We are moving and developing, and this is noticeable both in the dynamics of building military orders and in the civilian sector," he said.
