MOSCOW. Feb 8 (Interfax) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has reaffirmed Moscow's readiness to work together with Libya's transitional administration to end this crisis in the country.
On February 8, Lavrov held phone conversations with Mohammad Menfi, the Libyan Presidential Council head recently elected as part of the UN-led Libya Political Dialogue Forum, and the interim government's Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
"Sergei Lavrov reaffirmed Russia's readiness for constructive interaction with Libya's transitional administration in order to end the long-running crisis in this country as soon as possible and underscored [Russia's] commitment to strengthening cooperation with the aim of further developing traditionally friendly Russian-Libyan relations," the ministry said.
Menfi and Dbeibah, in turn, "reiterated their high assessment of Russia's position over the entire period of the crisis in their country and noted Moscow's constructive and proactive role in advancing the settlement process through involving in it representatives of all historical regions and political forces of Libya," it said.
