Patrushev, Iranian parliament speaker discuss situation around JCPOA - Russian Security Council (Part 2)

MOSCOW. Feb 9 (Interfax) - Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev and the Speaker of Iran's Islamic Consultative Assembly (parliament), Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, have discussed the situation around the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), the council's spokesperson Yevgeny Anoshin said.

"Special attention was given to cooperation on information security, joint efforts to counter the spread of the coronavirus infection and the situation around the JCPOA," Anoshin said.

The pair also discussed further cooperation, including on security, he said.

"The interlocutors reaffirmed readiness to broaden Moscow-Tehran interaction, both in bilateral and multilateral formats," Anoshin said.

"The meeting concluded with Patrushev congratulating Ghalibaf on the Islamic Revolution Day marked by Iran on February 11 and conveying best regards to the secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, Ali Shamkhani, while stressing the close constructive dialogue formed between the two countries' security councils," Anoshin said.
