MOSCOW. Feb 11 (Interfax) - Russian Deputy Defense Minister Alexander Fomin and Israeli Ambassador to Russia Alexander Ben Zvi discussed Russian-Israeli cooperation and the situation in the Middle East at a meeting in Moscow on Wednesday.
"During the talks, a thorough exchange of views took place on the further enhancement of Russian-Israeli cooperation. Key aspects of the situation in the Middle East were also discussed," the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.
The negotiators reaffirmed "mutual intentions to boost comprehensive interaction," it said.
Earlier on Wednesday, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on a phone call between Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and his Israeli counterpart Benjamin Gantz.
"The parties discussed Russian-Israeli interaction to ensure stability in the Middle East region," it said.
