Kyiv gives U.S. 'key role' in Donbas conflict resolution

KYIV. Feb 15 (Interfax) - The United States plays one of key role in ending a military conflict in Donbas, the Head of the Ukrainian presidential administration, Andriy Yermak, said.

"As Ukraine's strategic partner the U.S. must and can play a key role in ending the military conflict [in Donbas]," Yermak said on Ukraine 24 television channel on Friday night.

For its part Ukraine "will do everything for the principles laid out in the Minsk agreements to be implemented," he said.

"There is progress in negotiations, although these have been very slow and complicated," Yermak said, underscoring the importance of the presence in Donbas of representatives from Germany, France, the U.S., the United Kingdom, Canada and Sweden.
