MOSCOW. Feb 18 (Interfax) - Ukraine is a sovereign state, but it is not a friendly state to Russia, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.
"Ukraine is a sovereign state, which is not a friendly state toward us," Peskov told reporters.
"We've come to this conclusion judging by the anti-Russian actions that constantly dominate the Ukrainian administration's policies," Peskov said. "This is a state that has a very serious problem in the southeastern part of its territory, and a state that currently cannot solve this problem or does not want to solve it by observing the Minsk Package of Measures," he said.
Peskov said Russia definitely recognizes the Ukrainian state, but "since the moment the coup happened in Ukraine with the condonation of some Western countries, Ukraine has turned into a project of those Western countries."
