German authorities again decline to cooperate on Navalny - Russian Prosecutor General's Office

MOSCOW. Feb 20 (Interfax) - The German authorities have again declined to cooperate in the case involving the alleged poisoning of Russian opposition activist Alexei Navalny, the Russian Prosecutor General's Office said.

"A response to the enquiry of the Russian Prosecutor General's Office of January 21, containing another refusal to cooperate in the investigation into the circumstances that led to the hospitalization of Navalny, has been received from the relevant German authorities," the Prosecutor General's Office said in a statement.

"The German side is de facto evading responding using far-fetched pretexts. It is avoiding answering questions that are inconvenient for it," it said.

"While again emphasizing Russia's readiness for fruitful cooperation, the Prosecutor General's Office is calling on the German side to revise such a non-constructive approach," the Prosecutor General's Office said.
