ABU DHABI. Feb 20 (Interfax) - Many countries are interested in buying Russia's new tank T-14 Armata, but the current negotiations are mostly focused on the procurement of T-90 tanks, Rosoboronexport head Alexander Mikheyev told Interfax.
"The T-14 tank built on the Armata platform is a next-generation vehicle boasting powerful weapons, an automated fire control system, remarkable multi-level security, and an active protection system. Its crew is seated in an isolated compartment. Many foreign partners have shown interest in buying the tank," Mikheyev said ahead of the IDEX 2021 arms exhibition that begins in the United Arab Emirates on February 21.
Rosoboronexport will hold a presentation of the Armata tank at IDEX 2021.
"We are holding current contract and pre-contract negotiations on T-90 and T-90MS modern tanks, which are in huge demand on the global market as they surpass rivals in their class by practically every parameter," Mikheyev said.
"While having the low silhouette, optimal mass, high mobility and capacity to overcome the most complex obstacles at a high speed, T-90S and T-90MS tanks have high fire power and modern protection and survivability levels," he said.
