MOSCOW. Feb 20 (Interfax) - Russia's High Precision Weapons company will present options for upgrading BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicles (IFV) at the IDEX 2021 exhibition, the Rostec state corporation said in a statement on its website.
"The High Precision Weapons company of the Rostec state corporation will present options for upgrading the BMP-3 at the 15th International Defense Exhibition and Conference in the United Arab Emirates," the statement said.
The developer and producer of BMP-3, the Kurganmashzavod plant affiliated with the High Precision Weapons company, is working to improve fire and operational efficiency, mobility and protection of earlier supplied vehicles.
"Fire efficiency is improved thanks to installing the Sodema sight and guidance rangefinder, the AST-B automatic target tracker, and adjusting the OPU 2A70 gun for ZUOF19 high explosive fragmentation shells," the statement said.
The operational efficiency is improved thanks to using the Grot-V navigation system, a video surveillance system, and an automatic gearbox. The BMP-3's protection is improved thanks to installing additional armor.
The IDEX International Defense Exhibition and Conference is the largest one in the Middle East. It will take place in Abu Dhabi on February 21-25.
