MOSCOW. Feb 24 (Interfax) - Russian Permanent Representative to International Organizations in Vienna Mikhail Ulyanov has highly appreciated the recent agreements between the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and Iran.
"The agreements reached by Iran and the IAEA on February 21 were a significant achievement. They will ensure a sufficient level of verification even after the suspension of the Additional Protocol on February 23 and shape a more favorable atmosphere for political efforts aimed to restore the full implementation of the [Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action] JCPOA," Ulyanov said on Twitter on Monday evening.
IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi held consultations in Tehran over the situation surrounding the IAEA inspections at Iranian nuclear facilities last weekend.
Following the visit, Grossi said that he managed to agree with Iran on the temporary continuation of inspections of its nuclear facilities.
Additionally, Iran and the IAEA said in a joint statement that according to the agreement reached, the agency would continue such monitoring for three months at most.
