KHMEIMIM. Feb 24 (Interfax) - The Russian Center for the Reconciliation of Opposing Parties has received information about militants of the Hayat Tahrir Al-Sham terrorist group (banned in Russia) preparing provocations in the northeastern part of the Idlib de-escalation area using toxic agents, the deputy head of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides in Syria, Rear Adm. Vyacheslav Sytnik said.
"Terrorists on several trucks delivered containers with toxic agents, presumably with chlorine, to the area of the Tarmanin settlement," Sytnik said at a press briefing on Saturday.
"According to available information, militants are planning to stage a chemical attack and its consequences in the form of casualties and injuries among local residents seeking to subsequently accuse the Syrian government forces of the use of chemical weapons against civilians," he said.
