YEREVAN. Feb 25 (Interfax) - The My Step ruling parliamentary faction has described the political statement made by the Armenian Armed Forces General Staff, which demands the resignation of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and the national government, as unacceptable.
"We deem the political statement of certain members of the military to be unacceptable. This is an anti-constitutional move aimed to seize power from the people, which will lead the country into shock during the post-war period and which is fraught with external threats to security," the faction said on Thursday.
People responsible for national security "are intentionally exhibiting irresponsible behavior," it said.
"The My Step faction is united and determined to maintain stability of the country and people's power; it also supports the prime minister. We urge fellow citizens to gather on the square and exercise our constitutional right in a peaceful, non-violent manner," the faction said.
