MOSCOW. Feb 25 (Interfax) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has expressed hope for a peaceful resolution of the tense situation in Armenia in a phone call with his Armenian counterpart Ara Aivazian on Thursday, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
According to the statement, Aivazian briefed the Russian side on the latest developments in Armenia.
"The Russian side underlined that it viewed the situation as an internal affair of Armenia and hoped for its peaceful resolution," the ministry said.
