WASHINGTON. March 3 (Interfax) - The United States has decided to add three Russian research institutes to its sanctions list, the U.S. Department of the Treasury said.
The 27th Scientific Center, the 33rd Scientific Research and Testing Institute, and the State Scientific Research Institute of Organic Chemistry and Technology have been added to the U.S. Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control's Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons List.
The Department of the Treasury said that these research institutes have been sanctioned "for having engaged, or attempted to engage, in activities or transactions that have materially contributed to, or pose a risk of materially contributing to, the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction or their means of delivery."
