KALININGRAD. March 3 (Interfax) - The Kaliningrad-based Yantar Shipyard of the United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) has repaired the Yevgeny Kocheshkov air-cushioned landing craft, Yantar Shipyard press secretary Sergei Mikhailov told Interfax.
"The shipyard has promptly performed dockside repairs of the air-cushioned landing craft. The work was done rapidly and with high quality. The craft will soon return to its base in the city of Baltiysk," Mikhailov said.
Yantar is experienced in repairing two air-cushioned landing craft, the Yevgeny Kocheshkov and the Mordovia of the Baltic Fleet, he said. The landing craft regularly undergo maintenance in Kaliningrad. The craft are special, as their hull is made of an aluminum-magnesium alloy. In 2019, the Yantar Shipyard repaired both landing craft by turn.
