MOSCOW. March 4 (Interfax) - Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov has expressed deep concerns about the escalation of tensions on the division line in Donbas.
"Indeed, we are following the increasing tensions on the contact line with deep concern," Peskov told reporters on Thursday.
"Attacks on the territory of Donbas by Ukrainian troops or various formations that Ukraine has there near the contact line are becoming increasingly frequent," he said. "We are registering entry by Ukrainian troops in zones where they should not be after the completion of disengagement. And all these things are grounds for our serious concerns," Peskov said.
Moscow is closely analyzing the situation, he said. "We hope that the Ukrainian administration can keep these formations and units from further provocational actions and from increasing tensions," Peskov said.
Moscow hopes that "Ukraine will stay committed to the agreements in the Contact Group, the signatures of the head of the Ukrainian state on the Minsk Package of Measures," he said.
