LUHANSK. March 16 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian side has derailed yet another session of the political subgroup of the Trilateral Contact Group working to settle the conflict in Donbas, spokesperson for the negotiating team of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) Mariya Kovshar said.
"Ukraine has disrupted the work of the political subgroup," Kovshar told journalists on Tuesday.
At the start of the meeting, Ukraine demanded that the public experts invited to the videoconference by Luhansk and Donetsk be switched off, Kovshar said. "After the coordinator refused to meet their baseless demands, Ukraine reduced the situation to absurdity by demanding that the session be ended," she said.
"Such a position on the part of Ukraine fully prevents the possibility of working on the political aspects of settlement and proves that Kyiv is not interested in a peaceful resolution of the conflict," Kovshar said.
The negotiations on Donbas have switched to a videoconference format due to the coronavirus pandemic.
