MOSCOW. March 17 (Interfax) - Pirates have seized a vessel in the Gulf of Guinea, and one of the members of its crew is Russian, the Russian embassy to Nigeria said.
"According to the ship's owner, De Poli Shipmanagement, the pirate attack on the MT Davide vessel occurred 210 miles from Lagos, Nigeria on March 12. A Russian citizen, [last name] Vdovin, was kidnapped with other crew members," the embassy said on Facebook.
"All possible measures are being taken to establish Vdovin's whereabouts and secure his release," the embassy said.
