KYIV. March 18 (Interfax) - Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories Oleksiy Reznikov has proposed launching a humanitarian mine clearance operation in Donbas prior to Easter, the Ukrainian delegation to the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) said following talks on Wednesday.
"Oleksiy Reznikov has proposed taking two joint steps in the run-up to the Easter holidays: starting a humanitarian mine clearance process, namely demining areas where there are cemeteries and [water, gas, and electricity] infrastructure facilities, as well as areas where maintenance and other works are systemically carried out, and unblocking the operations of the Shchastya and Zolote crossing points. We are awaiting these decisions from the Russian delegation," the Ukrainian delegation said on Facebook.
The TCG is due to hold its next meeting on March 31.
