Indian gaganauts complete training in Russia - Roscosmos CEO Rogozin

MOSCOW. March 23 (Interfax) - Indian spacefarers, known as gaganauts, have completed a training program in Russia, Roscosmos CEO Dmitry Rogozin said.

"We met with Indian gaganauts, who have completed training at the Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center, at the Indian embassy in the evening. Taking this opportunity, we also substantively discussed future bilateral space projects with the ambassador," Rogozin said on Telegram on Monday.

It was reported on February 10, 2020 that, under a contract between Glavkosmos and the Human Spaceflight Centre of the Indian Space Research Organisation, the Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center had started a program training Indian candidates to go to space.

Glavkosmos and the Human Spaceflight Centre of the Indian Space Research Organisation signed the contract on June 27, 2019. The document regulates the selection of candidates, their medical examinations, and various aspects of their training for spaceflight.
